We are proud to be the only chicken producers in New Zealand who AIR CHILL our chicken, which means our chicken is Chlorine Bath Free. This is the only logical process to ensure we deliver the best quality. The alternative, which all other New Zealand chicken producers use are chlorine water bath chillers. We choose to air chill because there are so many more benefits.
Chickens can absorb up to 12% of chlorinated water during water chilling which also increases the weight of the chicken. Air chilled chicken has no excess chlorinated water and all you are paying for is the superior tasting, quality meat.
Better Taste, Flavour and Texture
When the chickens are immersed in chlorine water baths for hours they absorb a lot of highly chlorinated water. Air chilling the chicken means there is no excess water absorbed so the meats natural juices aren’t diluted, resulting in better flavour, taste and more tender meat.
Air chilled chicken cooks faster and chlorinated water doesn’t pour onto your pan when cooking.

Air chilling is a natural process where we use pure, fresh air to cool down the chicken. This is better for the environment than releasing millions of litres of highly chlorinated water.
